I think I might have been mis-sold solar panels. What are my options?

My solar panels were installed by a company that has since closed their business. Can I still claim?
This situation is more common than you might think, and don’t worry.
Most claims aren’t actually made against the company who installed the solar panelling. Instead, they are made against the company that provided the finance or credit. In most cases, you will still be able to make a claim. You can contact us to find out more on 0800 222 9064
Does claiming against a financial organisation or against my credit card affect my credit score?
No. If the reason for your write down or refund is due to product mis-selling, then there is absolutely no grounds, and no reason for it to affect your credit score.
My balance was paid in cash, by bank transfer or cheque, but I paid the deposit on my credit card. What can I do?
If there has been any payment at all by credit card, then there may still be grounds for a claim based on the full amount you paid (not just the credit card portion). This will apply if the total amount paid was between £100 and £30,000 even if you only paid £1 on credit card.
I’ve fully paid off my finance, but believe I was mis-sold. Can I still claim?
Yes. As long as you were mis-sold, you still have grounds for a claim, even if you’ve paid off your balance in full.
My solar panels performed as the salesperson advised they would, but I’m not happy with the product and want a refund, can I claim?
Unfortunately, being dissatisfied with the product is not grounds for a claim, but there may still be options available to you. In all cases you can just contact us on 0800 222 9064 and allow us to advise you on your particular situation.
